Taylor Stoltz
Elementary Education, PK-6

Welcome to my e-portfolio site! Thank you for taking the time to go through this digital teaching resume, and I hope that you get a sense of my skills and knowledge as applied in the classroom. My name is Taylor Stoltz, and I am very excited to begin my journey as an Elementary Educator. I will be receiving a license in PreK through the sixth grade. I believe that my unique background and experiences will make me a creative, engaging, and caring educator.

I give a more detailed explanation of my background and goals in regards to teaching in my Philosophy of Education. Originally from North Carolina, my path to Virginia and teaching seemed very long. From the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, I received my B.A. in History with a grade point average of 3.4. I attended Virginia Tech next where I obtained my M.A. in History while serving as a graduate assistant and maintaining a 3.8 GPA. After graduation in 2015 I was very unsure of what I wanted to do with my life. I always knew I wanted to help people, but who? And in what capacity? After stumbling into a summer job where I worked with children aged three to eight, I knew exactly what I wanted to do: work with elementary students.

In February of 2016 I began taking courses at Hollins University to pursue my M.A.T. In the past year and a half, I have learned so much more about myself and education than I ever thought possible. Although it took me longer than some to find my true calling, my passion and drive to help students succeed is strong and resolute.

Thank you again for visiting my e-portfolio! If you have any further questions or comments for me, please email me at tstoltz7@gmail.com or stoltztm@hollins.edu.

Sincerely,
Taylor Stoltz
